new release:
Dorninger "theatre scores remixed"

For 12 years the musician Wolfgang Dorninger (Wipeout, Monochrome Bleu) is one of the most important composers for stage music in Austria. Many of his soundtracks for theatre and dance pieces reached cult status, like the legendary theatre scores to Burgess` "Clockwork orange" (in accordance with Peter Androsch), Schillers "The robbers", Toma's Shakespeare treatment "The axis of evil" or Richters "God is a DJ". In the Theater Phoenix - where everything begun with Thomas Baum "H.J." (1993) - Dorninger presents now his newest double CD of theatre scores as a remix: „I had to remix the pieces because what works on stage needs not work at home listening a CD.“ With cutouts from theatre pieces, thematically interwoven and accompanied with text by Alexandra Rollett spoken by Steffen Höld, Dorninger lets the listener dive into a world of "love, drama, insanity".
(text: Theater Phoenix)

Seven themes on the double cd:
1 * entrance music, intros, 2 * The Shakespeare Complex, 3 * love, luring, passion and love sichness, 4 * war, force, NS youth welfare services, 5 * fear, betrayal & illusion, 6 * Der Schiller Komplex, 7 * dreams, visions & intermediate worlds

The music comes from the following pieces:
Clockwork Orange (1994, mit Peter Androsch), Die Räuber (1996), Oprpheus // Euridike (1998),Shakespeare, alle Werke leicht gekürzt (1999), Gott ist ein DJ (Landestheater, 2000), Sozialwerk (Posthof, Volksbühne Berlin, 2000), Richard III (Ballett, Landestheater, 2000), Woyzek (2002), Pulverfass (2002), Wer hat Angst vor Virginia Woolfe (2003), Lulu (2004), Richard3Macbeth (2004)
